At Rays of Hope Malawi, we believe in recognizing and celebrating the dedication of teachers and school administrators who go above and beyond to make a significant impact on education. On the 21st of December 2023, we organized the much-anticipated Excellence Awards Celebration for the outstanding primary schools participating in our Teacher Skill Strengthening Program in Blantyre Urban.

Honoring Dedication and Impact:

The awards were designed to acknowledge the relentless efforts of teachers and school administrations in standing out within the district. Beyond recognition, these awards serve as a powerful motivator, instilling a sense of relevance and pride among educators in their schools and communities.

Guests of Honor:

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Rays of Hope’s Programs Manager, John Zakeyo, and the District Education Manager, accompanied by their dedicated team from the education office.

Empowering Schools for 2024:

As a token of appreciation and to empower these 21 highly performing primary schools for the upcoming year, Rays of Hope gifted them with essential teaching accessories. The recipients were presented with boxes of marking pens, chalkboard rulers, boxes of chalk, and flip charts, laying the foundation for an enriched teaching and learning environment.

Commendations and Encouragements:

During the ceremony, the District Education Manager representative commended Rays of Hope for the invaluable training opportunities provided to teachers. He highlighted the positive impact of the network established among teachers in the district, urging Rays of Hope to continue reshaping and reinvigorating education in the area.

In his address, Rays of Hope’s Programs Manager, John Zakeyo, expressed gratitude to the awarded schools for their unwavering commitment to participating in the teacher capacity-building networks for the betterment of children in the district. Mr. Zakeyo encouraged non-awarded schools to raise their standards and emphasized the importance of intensifying peer mentorship systems to ensure no school is left behind.
